Indonesia’s hot rolled coil exports surged 250% year-on-year in the January-April period

According to Indonesia’s official trade statistics, Indonesia’s hot rolled coil (HRC) exports stood at 252,000 metric tons in April 2026, rising 44.8% month-on-month and surging 330% year-on-year. Its top three export destinations were Italy at 83,000 tons (up 80.8% YoY), Belgium at 62,000 tons (a 760% YoY jump), and Portugal at 49,000 tons versus merely 200 tons in the same period a year earlier.

For the January–April 2026 period, Indonesia’s cumulative HRC exports hit 886,000 tons, climbing 250% year-on-year, with Europe as the core consumption market. Shipments to Vietnam and Malaysia reached 96,000 tons and 49,000 tons respectively.
