The capacity replacement project for the Fushun New Iron and Steel ironmaking blast furnace upgrade and renovation has been completed.
Recently, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Liaoning Province issued an announcement regarding the implementation status of the capacity replacement plan for the Fushun New Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. ironmaking blast furnace upgrade and renovation project.
According to the announcement, all five obsolete blast furnaces at Fushun New Steel have been completely dismantled (comprising two 580m³ units, one 420m³ unit, and two 450m³ units), resulting in a total exit of ironmaking capacity of 3.15 million tonnes. Synchronously, the company has constructed two new 1,400m³ large-scale intelligent low-carbon blast furnaces, completing an equal-capacity replacement. The dismantled equipment no longer retains conditions for resumption of production, thereby effectively enforcing the industry’s policy of reductive upgrading.
